What is a Solenoid Valve Connector

The solenoid valve connector is used to connect the solenoid valve and the pressure switch. Solenoid valve connectors are often used as environment-resistant junction boxes. These protective housings can be used with hydraulic or pneumatic solenoid valves or pressure switches. Certain devices are capable of using either AC or DC voltages, but some types can handle both.

What Types of Solenoid Valve Connectors Are There?

The solenoid valve connector is configured to conform to a specific connector style. These styles determine the types of devices that can be used with a given solenoid valve connector. Some of the most common connector types include Industrial Type B (ISO Type B), Industrial Micro Mini (ISO Type C), DIN 43650 Type A, DIN 43650 Type B, and DIN 43650 Type C. ISO B type connectors have 11mm contact separation and are often referred to as industry standard mini. Likewise, ISO Form C devices have a 9.4 mm contact pitch, often referred to as industry standard sub-micro.

1. Form A DIN Valve Connectors

It’s the largest type of the valve connectors, and most widely used, particularly in manufacturing automation, mobile machinery, and process automation. As the largest of the three types of valve connectors, Form A valve connectors can be identified by their connector head shape (a 1-inch by 1-inch square) or their three inward-facing, U-shaped pins. The pins are spaced 18 mm apart.

These connectors are designed to be used with solenoid valves in hydraulics and pneumatics applications to securely supply power using a water-resistant method.

2. Form B DIN Valve Connectors

Type B valve connectors are the first choice for industrial automation applications. Thanks to its rectangular design, it saves a lot of space, especially when it is assembled on the manifold valve. On many pneumatic and hydraulic solenoid valves, the mating connector is the FORM B type.

Similarly to Form A valve connectors, Form B valve connectors can be found on solenoid valves in hydraulics and pneumatics applications, as well as in marine applications.

Form B valve connectors are built in accordance with EN 175301-803-B or Industrial Standard and available in 2-pole + ground.

The main features:

• Rectangle
• Contact spacing: 11mm & 10mm
• Contact shape:  for 11mm spacing, flat blade shape, for 10mm spacing, 1 flat blade pin, 2 U shaped pins.

3. Form C DIN Valve Connectors

It is the smallest type of the three female connector, and is also called a mini connector. It is mainly assembled on the micro solenoid valve to save space.

Form C valve connectors are built in accordance with EN 175301-803-C or Industrial Standard and available in 2-pole or 3-pole + ground options.

• Contact Spacing:  9.4mm & 8mm
